Shortcuts & Math Input
- Log with a Shortcut: add Kotori's Shortcut in the Shortcuts app and you can log without opening Kotori. Run the Shortcut, say or type your one line, and it's recorded.
- Wording your line: name the place (or the item), then the amount. For example “Starbucks $4.99” or “Corner store $6.20”.
- Math input: put a calculation where the amount goes and Kotori works it out as it logs. “Groceries 12.50*4” is logged as $50.00. The operators are + × ÷, and you can write × as *. This works in one-line entry (quick logging); in the manual edit screen, use the calculator keypad in the amount field. Available in version 1.1.0 and later.
Keyword Management
- What it does: browse and edit the keywords Kotori has learned (store names and more) — change which category a keyword is filed under, link different names for the same place into a group, delete learning data, or use Learn from History.
- Where to find it: the More tab → Keyword Management.
How to Read Reports
- Where to find it: the Reports tab. Switch between Month and Year at the top and use the arrows to move between periods. Tap the period label to jump straight to any month or year that has records (empty periods are skipped).
- Summary: expenses, income, and the balance for that period. Spending in currencies other than your main one is listed separately under “Other currencies”.
- Pie chart: it starts with the income/expense split. Tap expenses to see the breakdown by category, then tap a category to see its subcategories. Use the “<” at the top left to go back a level. In a period with no income, the chart opens on the expense categories directly.
- Budgets: overall budget usage plus budget and actuals per category. Tap a category to see its subcategories, then tap a subcategory row to list that period's transactions right there. Tap a transaction to edit it, swipe left to delete it, and tap the row again to collapse the list. A category without subcategories opens its transaction list straight away. Available in version 1.1.0 and later.
- Yearly view: switch to Year to see the whole year, with budgets compared at 12× the monthly amount. Whatever you drilled into stays selected when you change the period.
- Setting budgets: the More tab → Budget.

No. No email, no password.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. If you enable sync, it syncs across your devices through your own iCloud — never to the developer's servers.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Logging and learning happen entirely on-device.
Can I share with my family?
Yes — share a ledger with family or a partner through your own iCloud. No dedicated servers, no sign-ups.
Can I migrate from another app or CSV?
Yes — import CSV data exported from other apps.
What if a category is wrong?
Fix it once and Kotori remembers — it learns on-device.
Is it free?
Basic features are free to use.
